Today’s News - Wednesday, January 18, 2012

Dear Readers: ArchNewsNow enters its 10th year in 2012 - with an archive of well over 2,000 daily newsletters and almost 400 feature articles. So we understand very well the importance - and value - of intellectual property, copyrights, and trademarks. That is why, over the course of 10 years, we have made every effort to link only to original news sources in the newsletter - with full attribution. While we don't presume ANN to be on the level of a Google or Wikipedia (or MichaelMoore.com, for that matter), we are joining them and many others in today's online protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) the U.S. Congress is currently debating. So there will be no newsletter links today - other than those that will fill you in on what we feel are draconian measures to clamp down on Internet piracy. Yes, go after the pirates. But not with heavy-handed legislation that puts us all - websites large and small - at risk.
