A New Shortlist after Holl and Cornell Part Ways

by ArchNewsNow
October 3, 2002

Steven Holl and Cornell University announced in July that they had mutually agreed to dissolve their relationship for the design of a new home for the university's Department of Architecture. (Holl won the commission in an invited competition in 2001.)

The university is going back to the drawing boards, so to speak, with another list of five candidates for the $25 million project: Allied Works Architecture; Barkow Leibinger Architects; Morphosis/Thom Mayne; Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects; and Tod Williams Billie Tsien and Associates. The final selection will be made later this fall.
