Call for Entries: Green Skyline - Country Garden - Forest City Landmark Architecture International Design Competition
Seeking a green skyline for a new and sustainable smart city in Malaysia.
September 27, 2017
The Green Skyline • Country Garden • Forest City Landmark Architecture International Design Competition kicked off at Beijing Parkview Green in August.
Country Garden • Forest City is situated at the mouth of the Johor River near the border between Malaysia and Singapore. It spans about 20 square kilometers (7.7 square miles), and will be a sustainable and smart city created by Country Garden in collaboration with an international team.
Forest City is land reclaimed from Malaysia’s ecological wetland, home to the world’s second largest mangrove forest reserves (about 10,000 acres) that stretches tens of kilometers along the coastline.
The competition is open to both professionals and students. It involves four sites totaling 24 hectares (approx. 59 acres). The goal is to guide the future of Forest City, improve the efficiency of land use, and enhance the quality of space and environment.
Winners will have the opportunity to establish strategic partnerships with the Forest City project and participate in the follow-up design work. The student winners will have the opportunity to practice in the Country Garden or to work in Forest City.
